Working on a complete office refurbishment, Bankhouse in Manchester is now known as NEO - one of the most evolved and exclusive office spaces in the North West.

NEO, Bankhouse

Project Location: Manchester

Project Type: Helical    Project Industry: Commercial

The Beast! - Spanning across two floors and totalling over 6 metres in length, this staircase is at the heart of the refurbished NEO in the former Bankhouse Offices, Manchester.

Working with the chosen building contractors, FLYGHT were asked to design and install a showstopping staircase. Stretching across two floors, this staircase uses a specially designed steel carcass for structural stability. Once the final elements of this office staircase were ready to be installed, the stair treads were matching the stone flooring that is featured throughout the building and the sides were rendered and finished in white.

The building itself raises up 15 levels and covers a total of 52,000 square feet. – commercial property experts Bruntwood commissioned the designs in-conjunction with Bridge Architects and cost a total of £8 million. New tenants already include Microsoft and is proving a great success.

Nicknamed in our factory as ‘the beast’, top to toe this staircase measured a mamouth 6 metres with a diameter of 3.4 metres and a total carcass weight of nearly 5 tonnes!
