Maximum creativity and design skills were required for the Ormonde Place staircase, simply because of the limited space available within this London town house. Laminated glass was used instead of the preferred toughened glass because of the tight diameters required within the turns. Stainless steel handrails were insisted upon and the workmanship of these tight radius must seen to be believed.
The Zebrano wood treads, glass balustrade and stainless steel create a splendid and eye catching modern staircase design in a fine property. We must admit, we did not realise the challenges that this staircase would present, particularly with such a tight site installation. Those challenges were overcome and are now classified as experience. That knowledge allowed FLYGHT to design and manufacture even more challenging staircases with complete confidence.
